Safety Officer - EHS

Position purpose:

The position will be overall responsible for Plant EHS management system. This is including legal compliance pertaining to EHS.

Role and responsibility:

• Compliance with all applicable legal requirement e.g. pollution control board, DISH, factory act, CGWA, Fire NOC.
• Ensure that all form of CGWA, environmental compliance are filled and submitted in time. Responsible for all aspect of Safety, Fire, Environment & Health.
• Responsible for fire protection and fire prevention system up keeping.
• Closely working with risk insurance policy/audit team.
• Developing & implementing of method statement and risk assessment across the plant /project.
• Facilitating the collection of monthly EHS MIS such as safety observation, injury/illness, Near miss, CAPA data from plant and forward to corporate and senior management team.
• Monitoring operations and maintenance of STP & ETP.
• To drive plant Incident management protocol and ensure compliance of CAPA.
• Conducting EHS related training program to operator, staff, site team labor.
• Conducting induction training to all new joiners and ensure the presentation up to date.
• Maintaining fire hydrant system and ensure fire system is in well working condition.
• Emergency preparedness and response plan compliant to company's process.
• Implementation and well working conditions of work permits system, LOTO.
• Plant and Project inspection on regular interval with EHS point of view to find the out unsafe act, at risk behavior, unsafe condition and resolve it on priority to prevent the accident.
• Conduction Mock drill on regular interval to check the onsite emergency plan.
• Support in Procurement of PPEs, Emergency Equipments, Fire Fighting Equipments, Medical Equipments and Maintaining Same.
• Organising and Conducting Safety Committee Meeting as per norms.
• Complying ISO-45001 & ISO-14001 management system.
• Responsible and Compliance to third party audit like client audit, IS14489 audit, risk insurance audit etc.
• Monitoring Hazardous Waste Management and ensuring related compliance on time.
• Environment monitoring like stack, ambient air, noise, illumination, ventilation, workplace etc. as per consent to operate (CTO).
• EHS audit and inspection compliance as per requirement.
• Coordination with DISH, PESO, PCB/CPCB etc.
