Installation of Joints and Terminations:

Jointing: Install high-voltage cable joints for underground and overhead transmission lines. This includes preparing and connecting cables of 33kV and above, ensuring proper insulation and secure connections.
Termination: Install and test terminations at the end of cables, ensuring that connections are safe, reliable, and capable of handling high voltages. This may include terminations for transformers, switchgear, or other equipment.
Cable Preparation: Carefully strip, clean, and prepare cables before joining or terminating, ensuring no damage to conductors or insulation.

2. Insulation and Protection:

Apply insulation and protection materials (such as heat shrink sleeves, insulating tapes, and sealing compounds) to prevent leaks, external wear, and environmental damage to the cable joints and terminations.
Ensure the integrity of insulation at the joints and terminations, especially under high-voltage conditions.

3. Safety Compliance:

Follow strict safety protocols and standards when working with high-voltage systems to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as rubber gloves, insulated tools, and arc flash clothing.
Be involved in site safety meetings and risk assessments, ensuring the work is compliant with industry standards and local regulations.

4. Testing and Inspection:

Perform electrical testing on installed joints and terminations, such as insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and high-voltage dielectric testing, to ensure functionality and safety before the system is energized.
Inspect and verify work upon completion to ensure it meets engineering specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Record details of the installation process, including materials used, testing results, and any issues encountered during the installation.
Complete necessary quality assurance (QA) documentation to ensure compliance with both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements.

6. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Troubleshoot issues with high-voltage joints and terminations in the event of failures, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs or replacements.
Perform routine maintenance on installed joints and terminations to ensure long-term reliability.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other site workers to ensure that installations are completed on time and to the required specifications.
Communicate effectively with clients or stakeholders, providing updates on progress, issues, and solutions.

8. Adherence to Standards:

Adhere to national and international standards such as IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), BS (British Standards), or IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) for high-voltage cable installations and terminations.
