Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

• We are seeking a highly skilled Purchase Manager specializing in purchasing mechanical items like Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, Hydraulic Items, Gear Box, Mechanical Seal, Bought Out Components, Gasket, Elastomers, Bearings, etc. The mechanical buyer typically requires relevant experience in the field of mechanical buying in an engineering/Fabrication/Process Equipment/ similar company.
• Responsible for purchase Planning & Procurement, vendor management, price negotiation, sourcing material including rate contract finalization of A Class and B class inventories across the business divisions of the organization.
• Responsible for ensuring quality of material from vendors, logistics coordination, good receipt at workplace, proper storage, issue and reconciliation of material.
• Should be able to Identify and develop cost effective supplier base for obtaining timely procurement of materials.
• Preparing purchase schedules for timely procurement of materials, raw materials.
• Developing alternate supplier source for cost effective procurement optimizing inventory.
• Integrate the flow of supplier into through and out of organization to achieve a level of material is available at right place/time/quality/cost.
• Ensure follow up with supplier and transporter for timely delivery of material.
• Ensure follow up of supplier for delivery/ Rejection/Shortage.
• Negotiation with party and placement of purchase order/ work order.
• Supplier selection, Supplier evaluation & vendor rating.
• Raising PO at minimum cost and of prime quality.
• Relationship development with existing and new vendors.
• Co Ordinate with accounts to facilitate vendor payments.
• Must have experience in rate contracts of regular purchasing items.
• Must have good negotiation skills.
• Must have experience in the preparation of commercial documents like rate contracts and agreements.
• Working on SAP will also be an added advantage
• Co-operate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to aid and technical support.
• Right selection of goods while creating PO.
• In time right Decision making

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with departmental personnel, vendors and other customers/clients.
• Negotiation skills & communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve organization-wide customer service issues.
• Must have an experience of Tam Handling and Mentorship
