Position Title: VP / AVP - Retail
Location: Chennai

CTC : upto 70 lacs
Looking for somemone with Retail experience majorly from grocery
Job Purpose:
- You will be responsible for driving the success of category, buying, merchandizing and operation functions. Ensure onboarding of brand partners and seamless execution for store operationalization while optimizing profitability through effective P&L management.
- Your role will play a crucial part in enhancing our retail hypermarket business and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Looking for business leaders with excellent relationship with brands and hands-on experience of starting and growing large format Hypermarkets and/or Fashion & Lifestyle stores.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Mgmt. / Commercial: Engage with potential brand partnership and sign-up the commercials/term sheet/agreement. Hand-holding the brand partners till store operationalization.
2. Buying & Merchandizing: Lead these functions ensuring effective stock sourcing, selection/assortment and floor displays as part of the overall stock/offers/margin/sales management objectives. Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for the same aligned with the company's overall objectives.
3. Brand Partner Relations: Manage relationships with brand partners and negotiate favourable terms and conditions. Identify new vendors and foster strategic partnerships to expand product offerings and improve sourcing efficiency.
4. Omni Channel Integration: Ensure a seamless shopping experience across all touchpoints, including online platforms, brick-and-mortar stores, and mobile applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing, promotions, and inventory management effectively.
5. Operations Planning: Planning store operationalization covering manpower, stocks, equipment along with all related standard operating procedures.
6. Project Support: Work closely with projects team, proving valuable and timely domain inputs on design and development of the store from perspectives of Consumer, Brands, Merchandizing and Operations.
7. Performance Analysis: Continuously monitor performance metrics, analyse trends, and provide regular performance reports to senior management. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and course corrections.
8. P&L Management: Take ownership of the category/brand's financial performance. Analyse sales, margin, and inventory data to identify opportunities for growth and cost optimization. Develop and manage the category and operations budget, forecasting sales and expenses accurately.
Requirements:
1. Hold an MBA from a well-regarded business school
2. Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience
3. Language: Fluency in Tamil & English
4. Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
5. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
6. Existing strong relationships with brand partners in the FMCG/Grocery categories
7. Experience of Managing store Operations, is an added advantage
