Job Description

ResearchAnalyst II is responsible for creating syndicated/custom industry opportunity decks, investment model surveys by collectingraw data from primary and secondary sources in excel, analysing andinterpreting the collated data with storyboarding in PPT as per the client requirement.

6. Interpreting/ storyboarding in PPT Deliverableto represent the data in a unique way for better clarity.
7. Aiding Team members: Associates and Analysts inthe team
8. Carry out BusinessDevelopment activities

Task Activities

Scope Building
 
- Create ascope as per the client requirement serving the learning outcome statement(LOS) clearly mentioning the time period for the datapoints, definition,research approach, sample size to be considered from DD and SS side.
- Be a partof kick-off client call to learn the client objective, scope nuances and seekclarity wherever required
- Createtimeline with the manager/ mentor for the scope allocated
 
Secondary Research:
- Identifythe right definition of the market size/ segments in terms of price, region,product segments considered and excluded, whether it should be customer spendor all companies revenue and taxonomy of the product categories and itsapplication
- Build theecosystem including all the set of companies that exist as per differentbusiness model, identify their business model and mode of operations, sourcing,distribution channel used, whether the industry is fragmented or concentrated
- Identifyall plausible direct secondary research sources and collate datapoints fromvarious annual reports, press filings, broker reports, databases, industryassociation statistics, yearbooks, industry articles, DRHPs to carry out themarket assessment, trends, growth drivers, challenges, investment model,competition, pricing assessment, company profiles, etc
- Buildinghypothesis based on data available for validation from primaries
- Learn thekeywords to search for the research, build proxy models from Demand and supplyside and learn which variables can be collated from secondary sources
- Use thecompany databases (DnB Hoovers, Euromonitor, Statista, Marketline, etc) to knowwhich information can be sought about the industry and company related to theresearch ecosystem.

Primary Research:
 
- Creating aprimary tracker (incl. name, designation, company name, email id, interview asresearcher/ mystery shopper, remarks, etc) identifying all the type ofentity types to be connected with.
- Connectingwith C-level executives, sales/business development dept heads onLinkedin/other local social media/ chat platform
- Liasoningwith industry experts panel or getting them onboard/ handle translators/freelancer students if required
- Schedulingresearch interviews with various industry experts and sharing thetranscript/questionnaire first basis respondent designation, aptitude to answerthe questions before a CATI (computer assisted telephonic interview) via VOIPsoftphone (X-lite, warmconnect).
- Simultaneously,conducting mystery shopping via vendor selection process, potential B2B clientetc, to ascertain the authenticity of primary data points
- Conductingcustomer surveys by hosting questionnaire on platforms such as Zoho, surveymonkey, etc; negotiate and buy the responses; critically evaluate and buildcross tab for the responses received
- Summarizing/recording all the audio interviews in the excel mentioning the name,designation, company details and all the questions answe'red
- Solicitedinterviews to be published on the website/ blog and shared with the respondentsand with SEO team for further promotion

Creating Excel Deliverable:
- Record allthe data from primary and secondary sources, time stamp all information,include source specific/ reference URL in comments with proper mention ofworking model definition
- Maintaining the backup folder for all the sources used
- Properly format the excel as per the scope datapoints and create 2 deliverables:Internal Source Excel Client Deliverable Excel
- Perform asanity check of the collected data via standard consulting approaches(top-down, bottom-up) from demand side and supply side
- Coordinatingwith colleague working on the mandate to explain the data collated, provideclarity and seek any secondary or primary research requirement for qualitativecontent
- Reportingend of day (EOD) status on internal TMS (task management software)
 
Build Future Forecasting Model and InvestmentModel
- Run themulti factor regression model on statistical tool, SPSS by identifying theindependent macro/ industry factors for last 10 years or time series regressionmodels
