Power BI Specialist (5-10 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking experienced Power BI professionals who are proficient in Power BI, including Power Query Editor, DAX functions, DAX Studio, RLS, data modelling, SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI Report Builder and Tabular Editor.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business intelligence solutions and will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making.

- Manage full life cycle of BI, from requirement gathering to deployment.

- Optimize and maintain existing reports and datasets within Power BI.

- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regular data validations.

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support data analysis and reporting needs.

- Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their understanding and effective use of BI tools.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and provide technical support for BI tools and infrastructure.

- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.

- Design and implement data models, transformations, and calculations in Power BI.

- Create visually appealing and interactive data visualizations using Power BI.

- Perform data analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of Power BI dashboards.

- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for Power BI reports and visualizations.

- Identify and report issues, bugs, or discrepancies found during testing and work with the development team to address them.

- Validate data sources and connections to ensure data accuracy and consistency in Power BI reports.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their testing requirements and provide insights and recommendations for dashboard improvements.

What we are looking for :

- Bachelor's in Computer Science/ Engineering, Statistics, Math or related quantitative degree or equivalent work experience.

- 3 - 6 years of experience working with Power BI, including report/dashboard development and data modelling.

Essential Skills :

- Familiarity and hands-on experience with Power BI and other related tools and data visualization techniques.

- Familiarity with Power Query, and data modeling.

- Modify and troubleshoot existing reports and rebuild or repoint existing reports to other data sources.

- Strong knowledge of SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and RDBMS.

- Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS) implementation in Power BI with Access Management on Power BI Online Services.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

- Experience developing customized interactive dashboards and paginated reports using multiple data sources.

- Experience in creating calculated fields, Table calculations LOD expressions, actions, filters and parameters.

- Experience developing Semantic Models from multiple data sources using data blending.

- Good understanding of database and Excel macros/pivots.

- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code changes.

- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation for data extraction and transformation.

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions using Power BI.

- Proficiency in DAX & latest features of PBI (Calculated Measures, Calculated Groups, PBI Pro/Premium Licenses details etc.) to develop the best in class product.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to derive insights from data.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.

- Experience in testing methodologies and best practices for Power BI.

- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

Good to Have :

- Knowledge of Python/R.

- Basic proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, ADLS, and Azure SQL Database.

- Has some understanding of Google Big Query.

- Relevant certifications in Power BI or data analytics are advantageous
