Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer cum DBA who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases and ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The candidate will work on complex queries, database structures, and integration processes, as well as manage and optimize database systems both on-premises and in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:
SQL Development:
1. Database Design and Architecture:
o Design, develop, and implement database structures, schemas, and objects (tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, and functions).
o Collaborate with application developers to create efficient database solutions for application requirements.
2. Query Optimization:
o Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for performance improvements.
o Analyze query execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.
3. ETL and Integration:
o Develop and manage ETL processes using SSIS or equivalent tools for data migration and transformation.
o Automate workflows and integrate data across multiple systems.
4. Business Intelligence and Reporting:
o Design and create interactive reports using SSRS or similar BI tools.
o Work with stakeholders to gather requirements for report development and dashboards.
5. Data Analysis:
o Extract and analyze data to provide actionable insights to various teams.
o Ensure data integrity and accuracy during analysis and reporting.

Database Administration (DBA):
1. Installation and Maintenance:
o Install, configure, and manage SQL Server instances and databases.
o Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, index rebuilding, and database defragmentation.
2. Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
o Monitor database performance and proactively identify issues.
o Fine-tune database configurations for optimal performance.
3. Cloud Database Management:
o Administer and optimize databases on cloud platforms like Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or equivalent.
o Perform cloud migrations and ensure scalability and cost-efficiency.
4. High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
o Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, or Mirroring.
o Test failover processes to ensure business continuity.
5. Security and Compliance:
o Implement robust security measures, including user roles, permissions, and encryption.
o Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
6. Documentation and Standards:
o Maintain thorough documentation of database designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
o Establish and enforce best practices for database development and administration.

Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Expertise in SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 and advanced T-SQL development.
Proficiency in SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
Strong knowledge of database design principles and normalization.
Experience with cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or Google Cloud SQL.
Familiarity with database tools like SQL Server Profiler, Performance Monitor, and Activity Monitor.
Hands-on experience with database security and encryption techniques.
Knowledge of Power BI for advanced data visualization (optional but preferred).
Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or CosmosDB (preferred).
