FinOps Specialist (5-8 yrs)

Job Overview :

As a FinOps Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize our cloud and data centre spending while maintaining operational efficiency and performance.

You will work closely with various teams to analyse costs, identify savings opportunities, and drive financial accountability across the TechOps organization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement FinOps strategies for cloud and data centre cost optimization.

- Analyse cloud and data centre usage patterns and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Create and maintain cost allocation models and chargeback systems.

- Identify opportunities to resize or optimize resources for cost-savings.

- Collaborate with IT, Finance, and business teams to align technology spending with business objectives.

- Implement and manage tools for cloud cost management and optimization.

- Provide regular reports and insights on cloud and data centre spending to stakeholders.

- Lead cost optimization initiatives and track their impact on overall spending.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in FinOps and cost optimization.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or IT financial management.

- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) & VMWare platforms and their pricing models.

- Experience with data centre infrastructure and associated costs.

- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- FinOps Foundation certification or equivalent is a plus.

Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- In-depth knowledge of cloud cost optimization techniques and best practices.

- Familiarity with cloud management and optimization tools.

- Understanding of IT infrastructure and operations.

- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms.
