JOB DESCRIPTION PROCESS ENGINEER

Title : Process Engineer

Reports to : Application Manager

Job Purpose : To specializes in creating and implementing manufacturing methods and systems, to prove out the jobs on the machines with the goal of minimizing cost while increasing productivity. Need to work in machine settings, tool settings, and fixture selection majorly on Vertical machining centers. They have to usually work full-time and often need to spend time on the production floor.

Roles & Responsibilities

❖ To prove out the jobs in the machines

❖ Define, characterize, and lead the implementation of new processes.

❖ Assure sound engineering and validation principles are applied to process design and setups.

❖ Develop processes to be trouble free and ensure success every time (zero defects).

❖ Assist with equipment selection and drive implementation of new products.

❖ Manage projects to assure on-time implementation.

❖ Monitor and maintain process controls.

❖ Lead process improvements while mentoring others to improve processes.

❖ Research new materials and methods of development

❖ Organize and maintain existing engineering records

❖ Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes

❖ To create innovative and cost effective ideas to the manufacturing process

❖ Identify customer’s needs and opportunities to improve the manufacturing process

❖ Coordinate with Quality team for set up approvals and FAI clearances
