RPG Developer (5-6 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain RPG/LE/Free-format programs, CLLE programs, and iSeries/SQL including embedded SQL in RPGLE programs.

- Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to best practices and coding standards.

- Collaborate effectively with other developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure application quality.

- Provide technical support to end-users as needed. Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices related to RPG development and IBM iSeries.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

Qualifications :

- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience utilizing RPG/LE/Free-format, CLLE Programming, iSeries/SQL including embedded SQL in RPGLE programs.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.

- Experience with database design, data modeling, and SQL performance tuning.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Good understanding of EDI standards, XML, iDocs, and other Data Exchange Technologies.

- Familiarity with IBM Rational Application Developer for iSeries, Agile/Scrum development methodology, Object Oriented (OO) concepts and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) would be a plus.

- Experience with REST/SOAP API Web Services would be a plus.

- Experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and the integration of custom-built systems with packages is a plus.
