Role Definition
The General Manager of Quality will be responsible for central Corporate Quality. They will represent the company for all customer quality and technical requirements. They shall continuously improve the company's quality practices and standards to be on par with international standards. They will work closely with the marketing team for strategic developments such as qualifications and facility improvements, essential for the company's growth and sustainability. They will head the Quality Department and all related teams to ensure timely project delivery and report to the ED/MD.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
1. Manage and execute projects with world-class quality, meeting both customer and management requirements.
2. Analyze inspection plans to ensure minimal stage inspections by Clients/Third-Party Inspectors (TPIs). Post-order representations to minimize inspection stages are crucial.
3. Control project budgets and manage claims with clients.
4. Work on people development to enable the organization to meet customer quality requirements. Represent the company at technical conferences and other forums.
5. Ensure the company's qualification on exotic metallurgy, high thickness, and proprietary equipment.
Tasks and Activities
1. Review QA and QC departments.
2. Qualify the company on PED, GHOST, and similar certifications.
3. Study the feasibility and introduce TOFD & PAUT methodology and online inspection to support manufacturing activities.
4. Maximize the utilization of Cute QM and enable TPIs to review documents remotely, increasing their availability on the shop floor for physical inspections to avoid job idling.
5. Develop standards and procedures in engineering and quality processes to meet customer quality requirements.
6. Train engineers in quality aspects, bringing a practical approach to quality requirements and developing the capability to handle clients and inspectors.
7. Introduce inbuilt quality to avoid internal QC clearance stages.
Performance Metrics
8. On-time delivery - 100% Quality
9. People development - (At least 6 engineers in QC to handle clients & TPIs directly)
10. Company qualification - (PED, TOFD, NUCLEAR, DRDO, etc.)
