Responsibilities :

As an SDE 2 at Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technology foundation of our organization. Tasked with the development and maintenance of our backend web applications, you will collaborate with tech, business, and product teams.

Your role will encompass understanding and contributing to various parts of the web application stack : from web server setups, RESTful communication, to certain nuances of the backend application and data layers. Within our agile software development framework, you'll be engaged in development, participate in code reviews, and occasionally assist in refactoring. As the SDE 2, you will be responsible for the following :

1. Reliability of the Communication Platforms :

- You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the uptime and reliability of our communication channels.

- Collaborating closely with senior engineers and leads, you'll be involved in setting Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for various sub-channels, including transactional and burst communications.

- By participating in the design and deployment of fault-tolerant systems, you'll contribute to the platform's high availability, mitigating potential disruptions.

2. Observability of the Communications :

- You will assist in improving our system's observability. This includes providing insights into the reliability metrics, team-level usage, and the efficacy of our communication processes.

- Utilizing various monitoring tools, you'll participate in enabling real-time insights into the communication performance, facilitating the early detection and resolution of issues.

3. Adoption of the Communication Platforms :

- You'll work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams to promote the uptake of our communication platforms.

- By understanding and integrating tooling and features, you'll ensure our communication avenues are adaptable and effective for various internal use-cases.

- Engaging with diverse stakeholders, you'll gather requirements and assist in customizing communication experiences to fit their unique needs.

4. Platformization :

- You will be part of the team focusing on transforming our communication platforms into a streamlined Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering.

- Contributing to the development of platform features like self-serve dashboards, automation tools, and SDK clients for integrations will be crucial.

- Your involvement in refining features, such as communication throttling and retention, will ensure the platform remains efficient and user-centric.

Educational Qualifications : B.Tech or equivalent, preferably with a specialization in Computer Science. Higher degrees and relevant certifications are advantageous.
