Asa Game Designer for a mid-core game you will be interacting with various teamsat Garden City Games and bring to the discussion table your industry, marketand target audience understanding.
Understand the audience and game to come up with ideas for regularcontent releases and LiveOps events.
Understand the game mechanicsin-depth and build on it to improve key metrics.
When working on new assets, as a game designer, you will bring ideas,build prototypes, create interactive narration and develop the gamesmechanics.
You will design systems that areeasily maintainable, expandable and comfortable to use which can maintain gameeconomies and also inject fun into the user experience at the same time.
When working on existing games, as a game designer you are expected todeconstruct, understand and bring in changes through new features or modifyexisting ones, with positive impact on the user experience, revenue and gameeconomy.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ownend to end design responsibility for LiveOps and content cadence
Measureperformance of monetization levels ( items, Bundles and events etc) in the game and design new or modifyexisting levers to better game experience for players and increase revenue
Collaboratewith Product Managers and Producers to identify improvements to existinggameplay loops as well as new features, content, and event ideas
Coordinatewith Producers, Engineering, and QA to ensure that features and content aredeveloped according to design
Write design briefs and product specification documents
Analyzegame metrics and qualitative player feedback to inform design decisions
Drivethe design, tuning and balancing of new features and content
Planand own in game events
Provideartists guidance, reference images, and UX mock-ups to reduce art iterationtime
Defineand manage the execution of the daily in-game event schedule
Managemessaging, design, and tuning experiments for the daily in-game events
Createdetailed Game design docs about the planned features and improvements
Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Game Design or a related field.
Experience: 4+ years of game design experience, F2P in mid-core genre
Skills Knowledge:
Extensive experience with free-to-play gamedesign concepts and principles for mid core games.
Strong understanding of engagement andmonetization Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Proven track record of writingcomprehensive project plans, design briefs, and product specificationdocuments.
Passion for games, demonstrated by a deepunderstanding of current gaming trends and player motivations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mid-core or hardcore gamegenres.
Knowledge of current trends and bestpractices in the gaming industry.
Strong analytical skills with the abilityto interpret data and use it to inform design decisions
