Roles and Responsibilities

The Deputy General Manager Engineering is responsible for the technical design and development of the commercial products at Planys. The Deputy General Manager – Engineering therefore shall assist the Lead – Engineering (ME, EEE and MFG) accordingly. Since Planys is an original equipment manufacturer of underwater vehicles, most of the projects under the said category would involve development starting from design to manufacturing, assembly and testing. A detailed list of roles and responsibilities and the corresponding skill requirement is provided in the table below.

• Development of underwater vehicle architectures/schematics along with the mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
• Analysis and evaluation of product designs during the design and development of the product.
• Technical project management: good judgement of timelines and budgets are required. In cases where the timelines and budgets are constrained, the project plan must be modified to work within these constraints.
• Team management: Team strength must be planned and maintained as per the pipeline of projects. Effective communication with the team is necessary to ensure seamless management. More importantly, a healthy team culture must be maintained to encourage transparency and trust.
• Preparation of product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing the information
• Maintaining a database of design & manufacturing processes, testing protocols, failure logs, repairs and BOM
• Quality assurance: Planys is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company with set protocols to meet its quality objectives. To ensure compliance, robust testing methodologies must be devised and executed on products before delivery or commercialization.
• Develop systems and processes within the department for a structured approach in management

• Expertise in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Educational qualification & Work experience required

B.Tech /B.E. M.E./M.S in either mechanical or electrical & electronics or equivalent fields

Minimum experience of 6+ years in the relevant industry and role
