DevOps Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer with 7-8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing cloud infrastructure, deploying applications in Kubernetes environments, and implementing CI/CD pipelines. As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with development teams to build, maintain, and scale cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP environments. Ensure scalability, availability, and security of systems and services.

• Kubernetes & Containerization: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes. Optimize Kubernetes clusters and ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the applications.

• GitOps & Deployment-as-Code: Implement GitOps practices by using Git as the source of truth for deploying and managing infrastructure and applications. Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and updates as code with tools like ArgoCD or Flux. Ensure that deployment processes are versioned, auditable, and easily reproducible.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use Terraform to automate the provisioning of cloud resources and infrastructure, maintaining version-controlled configurations for various environments.

• CI/CD Pipeline Setup & Maintenance: Develop, configure, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other relevant tools to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.

• Helm Chart Management: Create and manage Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments, ensuring smooth application deployment, scaling, and upgrades.

• Monitoring and Logging: Implment cloud native observability, along with monitoring and alerting for cloud infrastructure and applications using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch. Analyze logs to detect and troubleshoot issues.

• Database and Message Broker Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain database solutions (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and message brokers (e.g., Kafka) to support application workloads.

• Networking & Security: Manage VPCs, subnets, and network security configurations, ensuring secure communication across all cloud resources and within Kubernetes clusters.

• Collaboration and Best Practices: Work closely with development, QA, and security teams to ensure the seamless operation of infrastructure and applications. Advocate for DevOps best practices such as automation, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear and concise documentation for infrastructure setup, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Qualifications:

• 7-8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in cloud-based environments, with a proven track record of managing and scaling cloud infrastructure.

• Strong experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

• Expertise in cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS and GCP.

• In-depth knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure automation and management.

• Hands-on experience with Helm for managing Kubernetes deployments.

• Strong understanding and experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.

• Experience setting up and managing key infrastructure components like Kafka, Elasticsearch, databases (relational and NoSQL), and cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnets).

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and load balancing in cloud environments.

• Expertise in implementing GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD, Flux, or similar.

• Excellent scripting skills in Bash, Python, or other automation languages.

• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack for infrastructure monitoring and alerting.

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

• Experience working in population-scale, high-transaction volume, and large user base products, ensuring that infrastructure and systems can handle large amounts of traffic, scale effectively, and maintain performance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) or GCP (e.g., Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

• Familiarity with additional orchestration tools like Docker Swarm or OpenShift.

• Experience with Serverless architectures in AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, etc.

• Experience with Deployment-as-Code principles, allowing seamless integration of infrastructure and application code into CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with monitoring solutions like New Relic or Datadog.
