Job title: Program Manager
Reporting to : Program Lead
About the role
As the Program Manager at Pi Jam Foundation, you would be responsible for the successful
management of multiple interventions across the country. This would include exhibiting
excellent organisation, management, and communication skills across verticals and lending
your expertise to strengthen our programmatic strategies and execution. Having a learning
mindset is crucial, along with the ability to solve problems and ensure overall team
productivity. You would be leading Pi Jam Foundation's vision through all your activities and
be the glue that integrates our dynamic team into coordination and efficiency.
You will report to the Program Lead and work in close partnership with the Program
Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation and Research teams. This is a full-time position.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Program Manager, you will be tasked with supporting all present and future Pi Jam
Foundation educational initiatives and programs. Your portfolio will include:
1. Establishing rigorous goals, systems and strategic plans:
A. Create a strategic plan of support, aligned to Program and larger Organisational goals and
teacher needs that enables all teachers to create learning environments, which actively
encourages the development of student Problem Solving, Design thinking, Digital making
and Creativity.
B. Build capacity in teachers to gain the requisite technical expertise, pedagogical expertise
and use a wide range of data (qualitative and quantitative) to analyse progress to goals,
evaluate and increase effectiveness of the Pi Jam Curriculum execution.
C. Collect, analyse and respond accurately and effectively to group wide needs backed by
data and motivational incentives.
2. Developing Self, Teacher and Student Learning:
A. Develop and manage a team of teachers through a variety of essential opportunities:
Classroom observations, feedback and aligned need-based learning experiences, Technical
training and Routine Teacher Training Jams.
B. Plan and execute effective peer-driven Learning Circles, with a focus on the three aspects
of the Pi Jam's Teacher Training module: technical expertise, data driven assessment
expertise and pedagogical expertise.
C. Build a focus on Problem Solving, Design Thinking and other learning outcomes inside
and outside the classroom.
3. Building a vision and driving a culture of collaboration within the organisation, school
ecosystem and teacher team:
A. Building a culture that is focused on ensuring student learning and program impact on
students is at top priority.
B. Facilitate shared learning, unconditional support and strong self and peer accountability
within the teacher team, organisational team as well as the school support system.
Additional Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and growth of Pi Jam Foundation's impact by providing your
services and support for out of classroom programs, workshops, additional R&D activities for
program/curriculum testing, the impact and analysis process, recruitment and performance
appraisals and team-wide decision making.
Required Qualifications:
Each of the core responsibilities outlined above, need specific skills to fulfill. While many of
these will be developed and honed through the role, some of the following are skills and
mindsets we would like you to bring with you to the role and organisation:
1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
Have minimum of 2 years experience in program management
2. Able to own work across multiple threads with tight deadlines and thrive in the startup culture
3. Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to view the larger picture while having an eye
for detail
4.Have a well-balanced, analytical and creative mindset to problem-solve and provide
innovative solutions
5. Ability to balance multiple priorities and positively motivate others to achieve their goals
and maintain processes to enable it
6.Have exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build rapport with
internal and external stakeholders
7. Excellent communications skills with both technical and non-technical audiences to fully
understand the experiences of our students, teachers, facilitators, and regional partners
resulting in significantly deeper learning and impact
8.Be an intellectually curious and responsive team contributor, delivering and receiving
feedback regularly, and eager to learn and stay up to date on computer science education.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Hold a degree in a Science Technology Engineering Math or Education field, or have
commensurate or demonstrable experience in STEM.
2. Proven experience leading education programs with that have substantive impact and
sustained outcomes
3. At least 1 year of corporate experience
4. Working knowledge of education and program evaluation methods and experience
evaluating programs with an eye to ongoing improvements
5. Have an in-depth understanding of the time and effort demands of a start-up.
