We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Unreal Engine Level Designer to join our team and contribute to creating immersive game environments. This role is ideal for candidates with 2-4 years of experience who are passionate about level design and want to take their skills to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
Create photo-realistic 3D interior and exterior environments with attention to detail and player immersion.
Develop interactive experiences from prototype to final gameplay, ensuring alignment with design objectives.
Work with Game Design and Engineering teams to translate game goals into effective, fun, and functional levels.
Iterate on levels through full production, balancing readability, difficulty, and accessibility for optimal player experience.
Create, manage, and optimize 3D assets to maintain visual quality and performance.
Optimize levels for real-time performance while maintaining high visual standards.
Use Blueprints/Visual Scripting to implement interactive systems and gameplay mechanics.
Provide mentorship and feedback to junior team members, helping them grow and improve.
Suggest and implement improvements to level design workflows, tools, and pipelines.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to enhance level design skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
Take the lead on advanced lighting techniques and material setups to elevate environmental realism.
Collaborate across departments to ensure technical feasibility and creative coherence in level design.
Conduct playtests to ensure levels are engaging, balanced, and polished, gathering feedback for iteration.
Proactively solve design challenges, combining creativity with technical solutions to meet project goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in Unreal Engine level design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Unreal Engine Expertise: Proficient in UE4/UE5 workflows, including lighting, particle systems, post-processes, and material setup.
Technical Skills: Experience with C++ is a plus; knowledge of Blueprints/Visual Scripting required.
3D Software: Familiarity with Blender, 3ds Max, or similar 3D software for asset creation.
Level Design Skills: Strong understanding of world-building, environment art, and creating engaging level flows.
Team Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively within cross-disciplinary teams.
Passion for Games: A deep passion for creating immersive and engaging game environments.
