Glendale International School is looking for an experienced and passionate Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher to join our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IB pedagogy, student-centered learning approaches, and the ability to create an engaging, inquiry-based classroom environment.
Responsibility :
Key Responsibilities: - Curriculum Implementation: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the IB PYP framework, focusing on transdisciplinary learning.
- Inquiry-Based Learning: Facilitate a student-centered learning environment where students explore, inquire, and construct knowledge through meaningful experiences.
- Holistic Development: Foster students’ academic, social, and emotional development in alignment with the IB learner profile.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Integration of Technology: Utilize educational technology tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, coordinators, and parents to ensure a seamless learning experience for students.
- IB Documentation & Reporting: Maintain student records, portfolios, and progress reports as per IB requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with IB PYP practices and actively participate in workshops, training, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Parental Engagement: Communicate with parents through conferences, emails, and meetings to discuss student progress and concerns.
Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. or IB-recognized teaching certification (Preferred).
- 2-5 years of teaching experience in a PYP or IB school.
- Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning methods and IB PYP principles.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate 21st-century skills and digital learning tools into teaching.
- Passionate about fostering a love for learning in young students.

Preferred Qualifications: - IB PYP training/certification or experience in an IB school.
- Experience in differentiated instruction and inclusive learning environments.
