PLSQL Developer

Key Responsibilities:

1. PL/SQL Development:
   
• Write and maintain PL/SQL code for stored procedures, functions, and packages.
• Develop database triggers, views, and complex SQL queries to meet business requirements.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing PL/SQL code to enhance performance and reduce execution times.
2. Database Design & Architecture:
   
• Work with database architects and system engineers to design and optimize the database schema.
• Ensure proper implementation of database normalization and indexing techniques to improve data retrieval performance.
3. Integration and Data Management:
   
• Integrate PL/SQL code with external applications or services (e.g., data warehouses, BI tools).
• Work on ETL processes to manage and transform data between systems.
4. Performance Tuning:
   
• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance by analyzing execution plans and identifying bottlenecks.
• Perform indexing, query optimization, and other tasks to enhance the overall performance of the database.
5. Testing & Debugging:
   
• Write unit tests for the database code to ensure reliability and stability.
• Identify and fix bugs or issues with existing PL/SQL code in production environments.
6. Documentation:
   
• Document all PL/SQL code and processes for future reference and for knowledge transfer purposes.
• Maintain clear and organized documentation for database procedures and functions.
7. Collaboration:
   
• Work closely with project managers, software developers, and business analysts to gather requirements and deliver the required database solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
8. Maintenance & Support:
   
• Provide ongoing support for existing PL/SQL code, addressing issues and requests from stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards when working with sensitive data.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills:
  
• Expertise in PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle database structures (tables, views, indexes, triggers, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database and related tools (e.g., SQL*Plus, TOAD, SQL Developer).
• Familiarity with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, or other Oracle tools is a plus.
• Experience with performance tuning and database optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix commands, shell scripting, and other related technologies.
