Job Description : Database Administrator

Role Objective :

- To ensure the performance, security, and availability of database servers while supporting the organization's critical data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Configure and maintain high availability and clustering for database systems.

2. Administer and optimize MSSQL databases and related tools.

3. Develop and implement processes to enhance database security.

4. Establish and uphold database standards, including hardening procedures.

5. Monitor drive space, database capacity, and log files to prevent downtime.

6. Oversee SQL server logs and activities for optimal operations.

7. Manage database access, including user privileges and role assignments.

8. Ensure robust database security, regular backups, and disaster recovery processes.

9. Perform database maintenance, indexing, and tuning to maximize performance.

10. Deliver high levels of system performance, availability, and reliability.

11. Utilize relational and dimensional modeling techniques effectively.

12. Work with multiple database platforms such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

13. Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.

14. Analyze and address real-time database issues efficiently.

15. Diagnose and resolve database errors, including deadlock troubleshooting.

16. Collaborate with developers for query optimization and schema enhancement.

17. Generate database reports, perform audits, and develop dashboards.

18. Configure database mirroring and disaster recovery solutions.

19. Automate repetitive database tasks through scripting.

20. Provide 24/7 production support and address critical database issues promptly.

Qualifications :

- Proven expertise in database administration with a focus on performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery.

- Strong knowledge of database technologies across relational and NoSQL systems.
