Collection Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1.Customer Follow-Up:

oContact customers with overdue payments through calls, emails, and field visits.

oSend reminders and follow up on repayment commitments.

2.Field Collections:

oConduct door-to-door visits to customers premises for overdue loan recovery.

oProvide customers with detailed account statements or explanations about their dues.

3.Negotiation and Resolutions:

oDiscuss repayment challenges with customers and offer feasible repayment options.

oNegotiate settlements or restructuring plans when necessary, following company policies.

4.Compliance and Documentation:

oEnsure all collection activities are in compliance with company policies, legal guidelines, and RBI regulations.

oMaintain accurate and updated records of all communications, payments, and customer interactions in the system.

5.Risk Mitigation:

oIdentify high-risk accounts and escalate complex cases to senior management for further action.

oAssist in the preparation of legal cases for chronic defaulters, if required.

6.Team Collaboration:

oWork closely with the credit and operations teams to resolve customer issues.

oShare insights and feedback on customer behavior to improve credit policies and processes.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze payment trends and identify risk patterns.

Tech-Savviness: Familiarity with collection management systems and basic MS Office tools.

Desired profile of the candidate

1-3 years of experience in collections, preferably in an NBFC, bank, or financial institution.

Other Requirements:

oValid drivers license (for field collections).

oKnowledge of local languages and geography is preferred.
