Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop robust and scalable database systems based on organizational requirements.

- Standardize database infrastructure to ensure consistency and efficiency.

- Architect secure database solutions, implementing access controls, encryption, and other security protocols.

- Design storage and network architectures for optimal database performance.

- Integrate monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive database management.

- Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies.

- Ensure data recovery processes are effective and tested regularly.

- Create and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of disruptions.

- Manage database user access, permissions, and security.

- Perform system hardening according to ASPR compliance standards.

- Automate routine database tasks using scripting and automation tools.

- Monitor database performance and capacity, planning for future growth needs.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Lead and manage database-related projects from initiation to completion.

- Coordinate with stakeholders, including developers, system administrators, and business users, to ensure project goals are met.

- Ensure database systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and the effectiveness of security measures.

- Manage TSS activities (Product Life Cycle).

- Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgreSQL technologies and trends.

- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve database performance and security.

- Conduct regular testing and validation of database systems.

- Provide support and training to users and other IT staff on database-related issues.

- Develop user guides and training materials to promote effective database utilization.

- Plan and execute data migration projects for application upgrades or platform changes.

Qualifications :

- 10+ years of experience in PostgreSQL administration.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

- Strong understanding of database design principles, including normalization, data modeling, and performance tuning.

- Expert-level SQL skills, including writing complex queries, optimizing queries, and understanding query execution plans.

- Experience with database security best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (e., Python, Shell) for automation tasks.

- Experience with database monitoring and alerting tools.

- Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.

- Strong understanding of storage and network architecture concepts.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
