Senior Software Development Engineer - Test - Automation Testing (5-7 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java/Selenium/Rest Assured or JavaScript/Playwright/Rest Assured.

- Develop and execute automated tests for web applications and APIs to ensure product quality.

- Collaborate with development and product teams to define test strategies and identify critical test scenarios for complex software systems.

- Perform API testing using Rest Assured, validate response structures, handle various authentication mechanisms, and ensure proper integration.

- Automate UI testing using Selenium (Java) or Playwright (JavaScript), ensuring optimal cross-browser functionality and performance.

- Implement test cases that are efficient, reusable, and maintainable to improve the quality and robustness of the software.

- Analyze and report test results, identify defects, and work with the team to ensure timely resolution.

- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous integration and delivery.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the automation testing team.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices in the automation testing domain.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in automation testing with a strong focus on web and API testing.

- Java + Selenium + Rest Assured or JavaScript + Playwright + Rest Assured.

- Rest Assured is mandatory for API testing in both combinations.

- Experience with Selenium (Java) or Playwright (JavaScript) for UI automation.

- Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.

- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, and experience in validating API endpoints, response structures, and handling different HTTP methods using Rest Assured.

- Solid knowledge of Java or JavaScript for developing test automation code and frameworks.

- Expertise in test automation tools, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches is a plus.

- Agile experience with strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced development environment.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate test results, defects, and complex technical concepts.
