We seek a Mid-Level 3D Character Artist with 3-5 years of professional experience in stylized character modeling and texturing. The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their skills in creating stylized characters, a solid understanding of 3D art pipelines, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Character Modeling Texturing :
Create high-quality 3D character models with a stylized approach, from low-poly to high-poly, based on concept art and design specifications.
Develop and apply detailed textures and materials to characters, utilizing tools such as Substance Painter and Photoshop to achieve the desired visual style.
Ensure character models and textures are optimized for performance without compromising on visual fidelity.
Collaboration Communication :
Work closely with concept artists, animators, and other team members to ensure character models and textures align with the overall art direction and design requirements.
Provide and receive constructive feedback during art reviews to refine character assets and improve quality.
Communicate effectively with team members to address and resolve any issues related to character modeling and texturing.
Technical Expertise :
Use industry-standard tools and software (such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter) to create and refine character assets.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to character models and textures, ensuring seamless integration into the game engine.
Stay updated with the latest techniques, tools, and industry trends related to character art.
Documentation Best Practices :
Maintain organized and well-documented asset files, following established art pipelines and guidelines.
Contribute to the development and adherence to style guides and best practices for character modeling and texturing.
Qualifications Experience :
3-5 years of professional experience in 3D character art, with a focus on stylized character modeling and texturing for games.
Demonstrated experience in creating stylized character models and textures that have been successfully implemented in shipped games.
Skills :
Proficiency in 3D modeling and sculpting software (Maya, Blender, ZBrush, etc.).
Strong skills in texturing and material creation using tools like Substance Painter and Photoshop.
Portfolio :
A strong portfolio that showcases a range of stylized character models and textures. The portfolio should highlight your technical skills, creativity, and ability to adhere to stylistic guidelines.
