Manager (Accounts & Finance)

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager for the E-commerce Portal preferably for air tickets & hotel bookings will be responsible for overseeing all financial transactions, reporting, and analysis related to the company's online operations. This role demands expertise in e-commerce accounting, including revenue recognition, transaction reconciliation, tax compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the e-commerce or travel industry.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Revenue and Transaction Management: Oversee revenue recognition and ensure precise accounting for bookings, cancellations, refunds, and customer payments.

- Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile payment gateway accounts, merchant accounts, and customer accounts to ensure accurate records and timely resolution of discrepancies.

- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.

- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other relevant taxes for e-commerce transactions.

- Cost and Expense Tracking: Monitor and manage all operational expenses, commissions, and vendor payments related to bookings, marketing, and other activities.

- MIS Reporting: Provide detailed monthly MIS reports on financial performance and key metrics to support decision-making.

- Customer/Vendor Outstanding Reports: Prepare and manage weekly reports on customer and vendor outstanding balances to ensure timely payments and collections.

- Up-to-date Accounts: Ensure accurate and up-to-date customer and vendor accounts in the system on a daily basis.

- GST and TDS Data Preparation: Prepare data for GST return filings and ensure timely TDS deposits and return submissions.

- Consolidated Balance Sheet Preparation: Assist in the preparation of consolidated balance sheets.

- Auditing and Internal Controls: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for e-commerce transactions.

- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on transaction volumes and company objectives.

- Data Analysis: Analyze transaction data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for workflow improvements in accounting and financial operations.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance) / Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with 3 years in e-commerce or the travel industry.
• E-commerce background, especially in air tickets and hotel bookings, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of e-commerce accounting processes, including payment gateways, refund mechanisms, and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Travel Excel software and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with the taxation framework relevant to e-commerce platforms, especially in the travel sector.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
