Senior Storage Engineer

MilliporeSigma is looking for Senior Storage Engineer to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.A Storage Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining storage solutions to meet the data storage and retrieval needs of an organization. They work closely with cross-functional teams to assess storage requirements, plan and configure storage systems, and ensure optimal performance and availability. Storage Engineers also monitor storage infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and implement data backup and recovery strategies.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to assess storage requirements and develop storage strategies aligned with business needs.Design and implement storage solutions, including storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and cloud storage systems.Configure and optimize storage infrastructure, including storage arrays, disk shelves, switches, and interconnects.Monitor storage systems' performance, capacity, and availability to identify and address potential issues proactively.Implement data backup and recovery strategies, including regular backups, data replication, and disaster recovery plans.Perform routine maintenance tasks, firmware updates, and system patches on storage devices.Troubleshoot storage-related issues, analyze system logs, and work with vendors or technical support teams to resolve complex problems.Implement and enforce security measures and access controls to protect stored data.Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage systems with servers, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions.Conduct performance tuning and optimization of storage systems to ensure efficient and reliable data access.
