The Network Engineer is for the daily operations, support, and maintenance of the organizations Global network infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and security across local, wide-area, and cloud networks. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of networking principles, experience with network hardware, and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues effectively.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Network Support and Maintenance: Manage and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points. Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure reliable operation. o Support network configurations and modifications, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption. Network Troubleshooting: o Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems. o Respond to and resolve network incidents, working to minimize impact and prevent recurrence. o Perform root cause analysis and document resolution steps. Network Security: o Implementing and maintaining network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, identity management, and secure access protocols & controls. o Monitor for potential vulnerabilities and apply necessary updates and patches. o Collaborate with the security team to enforce and support security policies. Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures. o Prepare regular reports on network performance, incidents, and maintenance activities. o Keep documentation current to support knowledge sharing within the IT team. Network Upgrades and Optimization: o Assist with network upgrades, hardware replacements, and firmware updates. o Identify and recommend improvements to enhance network performance and capacity. o Participate in planning and execution of network projects, including testing and implementation.
