Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and refining architectural designs, overseeing the work of junior architects, and ensuring effective coordination with various stakeholders. The lead Architect will play a pivotal role in design and drafting, particularly in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drawing and Design Creation:

- Develop and refine architectural drawings, plans, and blueprints that align with project specifications and requirements.

- Translate design concepts into detailed working drawings that are accurate and practical.

2. Design Concept Development:

- Provide innovative and effective design concepts that meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory needs.

- Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver design solutions that exceed expectations.

3. Review of Junior Architect Work:

- Supervise and mentor junior architects and design staff, reviewing their work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards.

- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to ensure high-quality outputs from the team.

4. Team Management and Coordination:

- Lead and manage architectural project teams, ensuring clear communication, efficient workflow, and effective collaboration.

- Coordinate with team members to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.

5. Coordination with Plumbers, Electricians, and Other Trades:

- Work closely with plumbers, electricians, and other trades to ensure that architectural designs integrate seamlessly with building systems.

- Address any design-related issues that arise during construction and ensure all systems are properly coordinated.

6. Design and Drafting (MEP):

- Oversee the design and drafting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, ensuring they are efficiently incorporated into the overall architectural design.

- Ensure that MEP designs are compliant with industry standards and project requirements.

7. Knowledge of DCPR (Design and Construction Project Regulations):

- Apply a thorough understanding of Design and Construction Project Regulations (DCPR) to ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements and standards.

- Stay updated on changes in regulations and incorporate them into design practices as needed.

8. Coordination with Design and Municipal Architects:

- Coordinate with municipal architects and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

- Facilitate approvals and permits required for project progression.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

- Professional Architect license

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and project management.

- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).

- Strong understanding of MEP systems and their integration into architectural design.

- In-depth knowledge of DCPR and local building codes.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and various stakeholders.
