The Head of Merchandising will play a key role in driving the company's product strategy and assortment planning. This position involves managing the end-to-end merchandising process, from product conceptualization to sales performance analysis. The individual will work closely with design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that products meet market demands and consumer expectations, further strengthening its position as a market leader in the jewellery segment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Merchandising Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive merchandising strategy aligned with the brand's vision and market trends.
- Create and manage product roadmaps to ensure a diverse and competitive product portfolio.
2. Product Planning & Development:
- Collaborate with design teams to conceptualize and develop new collections based on customer preferences and market demand.
- Analyse product performance and trends to guide future design and assortment decisions.
3. Inventory Management:
- Optimize inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Monitor stock turnover, ensuring efficient product lifecycle management.
4. Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Use insights to refine product offerings and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Work closely with sales teams to understand regional and outlet-specific requirements.
- Partner with marketing teams to create impactful campaigns that highlight key product features and benefits.
6. Financial Management:
- Develop and manage merchandising budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Track and analyse sales data to measure product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of merchandising professionals to drive creativity, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the jewellery, luxury goods, or retail industry.
- Proven track record in managing product portfolios and driving sales growth.
- Strong understanding of market trends, customer behaviour, and the competitive landscape in the jewellery sector.
