Consultant, Product Development (Biscuit)

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct detailed market research and competitor analysis to understand consumer preferences, industry trends, and market dynamics.
• Develop product specifications, features, and performance requirements that align with market demand and industry standards.
• Create innovative product concepts for new developments or enhancements to existing offerings.
• Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing processes to ensure product functionality, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, manufacturing, marketing, and sales) to ensure smooth product development and a successful launch.
• Manage the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and market validation tests to assess the commercial viability of new products.
• Act as a liaison between departments to align product goals with overall business strategies.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of launched products, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary upgrades.
• Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and innovation trends to drive continuous product improvement.
• Support product positioning and customer education by overseeing product documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and marketing materials.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree Food Technology/Food Engineering/Engineering Subjects.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in product development or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, from ideation to commercialization.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and cost optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with market research techniques and consumer behavior.
• Strong business acumen and market awareness, with the ability to translate customer needs into product requirements.
• Proficiency in product design software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality products.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to priorities tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• A creative mindset and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
