Location: Nanavati Hospital Heart Institute (NHHI) Cath Lab.

Job Purpose: Cath lab technicians are vital team members who assist doctors during invasive cardiovascular procedures such as angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1.1.7.1 To check cath lab machine functionality
1.1.7.2 Assist Physician in all the procedures that are undertaken in the cath l
Lab (PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement etc.)
1.1.7.3 Prepares sterile field and operative site
1.1.7.4 To assist the consultant while viewing the digital images to the patient s relatives
1.1.7.5 To participate in emergency measures
Patient rights:
Ensure protection of patient rights and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy while providing services to patient.
If patient has any query regarding any services kindly raise it to the immediate superior for providing correct information.
Do not enter or go near to the bed / room of female patient without knocking and check first if any attendant is there with female patient. After consent of patient or patient attendant, then only visit bed /room for any assistance.
Do not discuss any patient clinical condition with colleagues or with any other staff of the hospital.
Facility management:
To check machine vitality
To co-ordinate with company for Preventive maintenance
Ensure timely reporting of maintenance issues of AC, civil, biomedical equipment in complaint management system and escalate with pictures to immediate superiors on an urgent basis for rectification.
Identify and report any infrastructure hazard prone area such as electrical, fire, hazardous chemical storage, to your immediate superior on duty.
Communication:
To prepare CD for each & every patient
Reporting any emergency of the ward to Manager - NHHI.
Communicate day to day activities within department (non clinical).
Report, document immediately any incident or sentinel event occurrence.
For emergency cases, in cath lab / COT, during night shift or on holidays timely response as per calls by NHHI reception staff.
Material management:
To receive consignment items in cath lab for procedure
To give proper count of all used consignment material to NHHI pharmacy
Key performance indicator monitoring:
Six monthly fluoroscopy screening of cath lab aprons & its reporting
TLD batch screening on regular interval & documentation of it
Code of conduct at work place:
To perform job/task as and when assigned by the superiors
To be punctual on duty and time schedule
To comply with concurrent policies of the hospital
Disaster Management:
To participate in the disaster drill such as fire evacuation drill, spill management, code violet in case of violence, code pink in case of child abduction, bomb threat, internal disaster and external disaster response
Implement the roles defined effectively
Ensure the timely intimation to immediate superior in case of any disaster.
