The Registrar in Cardiology will provide medical care and support to patients with cardiovascular conditions while working closely with senior cardiologists and healthcare teams. You will be involved in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with heart-related diseases, conducting medical procedures, and assisting in clinical research and academic activities. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise, dedication to patient care, and a strong commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of cardiology.
Patient Care & Management:
Provide day-to-day medical care to cardiology patients, including conducting physical exams, assessing health conditions, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests. Monitor and manage patients' treatment plans in collaboration with the cardiology team.
Clinical Procedures & Diagnostics:
Assist in or perform invasive and non-invasive procedures such as catheterizations, echocardiograms, stress tests, and pacemaker placements, under the supervision of senior consultants. Participate in the interpretation of diagnostic results.
Case Management & Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of patients, including documenting consultations, procedures, and ongoing treatment. Ensure that all records comply with medical standards and regulations.
Collaboration with Senior Cardiologists:
Work closely with consultants and specialists to plan and execute treatment plans for complex cardiac conditions. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care decisions.
Research & Academic Contribution:
Engage in clinical research activities within the cardiology department. Assist in gathering data, conducting studies, and publishing research findings. Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiology and contribute to the academic environment of the hospital or institution.
Emergency Cardiology Care:
Respond to emergencies such as heart attacks or arrhythmias and provide immediate care, stabilization, and coordination with senior medical staff for advanced interventions.
Patient Education & Counseling:
Educate patients and their families on heart disease prevention, treatment options, lifestyle changes, and post-procedure care. Offer counseling regarding the management of chronic heart conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
On-call Responsibilities:
Provide out-of-hours care as required, including being on call to manage emergency cardiology cases and respond to critical situations in the cardiology unit.
