The Registrar in Family Medicine will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, ensuring continuity of care across a broad range of medical conditions. You will work closely with senior physicians, assist in diagnosing, treating, and managing chronic and acute health issues, and provide preventive care. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Patient Care & Management:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients of all ages, including performing physical examinations, taking medical histories, diagnosing illnesses, and managing treatment plans for both acute and chronic conditions.
Health Promotion & Preventive Care:
Offer counseling and education on preventive health measures, including vaccinations, screenings, lifestyle modifications, and health maintenance. Provide guidance on managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and obesity.
Clinical Procedures & Diagnostics:
Perform minor clinical procedures as part of general medical practice, such as suturing, wound care, and routine physical assessments. Interpret lab results, X-rays, and other diagnostic tests.
Patient Education & Counseling:
Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment options, medications, and the importance of lifestyle changes. Help patients understand their medical conditions and encourage self-management.
Collaborative Care:
Work closely with other healthcare providers, such as specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals, to provide holistic care. Refer patients to appropriate specialists when necessary and collaborate on multidisciplinary care plans.
Medical Record Keeping & Documentation:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records for all patients using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Document consultations, patient histories, treatment plans, and follow-up care in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
Emergency Care & Acute Illness Management:
Provide care for acute health problems, including emergencies, within the scope of family medicine. Respond to urgent patient concerns and conditions, ensuring appropriate treatment and referrals when necessary.
Research & Continuous Learning:
Participate in research activities within the family medicine field. Stay current with the latest medical guidelines, treatment protocols, and developments in family medicine.
On-call Responsibilities:
Provide on-call services as required, handling patient inquiries, providing care during emergency situations, and attending to acute health concerns outside of regular working hours.
