The logistics manager will be responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end logistics operations within a B2B steel business. The role focuses on seamless stakeholder collaboration with sales, logistics service centers, and transporters to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position will also emphasize improving delivery models, optimizing logistics costs, and ensuring timely delivery of orders while driving continuous process improvements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Logistics Operations Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the movement of goods from service centers to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Establish and maintain same-day and next-day delivery models to meet business and customer needs.
Monitor daily updates on order progress and prepare detailed order summary reports.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
2. Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as the primary interface between sales teams, service centers, and transporters to align on logistics priorities and resolve issues.
Act as the primary point of contact between the sales, logistics, and service centre teams to ensure seamless communication and priority alignment as per business requirements.
Facilitate smooth communication and problem resolution among all stakeholders.
Collaborate with Sales to address customer inquiries related to logistics and delivery timelines.
3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop and track key logistics metrics, including on-time delivery rates, transit times, and logistics cost optimization.
Prepare and share weekly and monthly performance reports with internal stakeholders.
4. Cost Optimization and Delivery Innovation:
Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and implement innovative delivery models (e.g., same-day, next-day delivery).
Negotiate contracts with transporters to secure cost-effective and reliable services.
5. Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate existing logistics processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in logistics to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
Min 5-7 years of proven experience in logistics and warehouse management, or a similar role, preferably in a B2C/B2B Operations environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement efficient processes and workflows.
Proficiency in logistics software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong understanding of delivery models and transportation management systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective team collaboration.
Minimum Bachelors degree in Production or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Masters degree in logistics or operations management is a plus.
