Supporting and coordinating closing activities and safeguarding accurate and timely reporting in the monthly closing process.
Responsible for ensuring an effective internal control structure is in place and maintaining compliance with SOX, US GAAP and Luminar accounting guidance.
Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting and analytical processes to drive productivity and efficiency.
Provide analytical and financial ad hoc support to sites.
Demonstrates an understanding of various accounting processes and identify root causes and areas for improvements.
Evaluate transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure the financials are accurate, complete, and in accordance with US GAAP.
Research accounting literature to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Direct multiple strategic analyses for improved profitability and increased visibility for leadership on drivers of site financials.
Leader in resourcing talent and diversity, involved in all parts of the hiring and development process.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance and/or the equivalent in experience
CA or CPA
4-8 years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Well organized, detailed oriented, open to change and willing to learn new skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to apply policies and standards consistently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, comply with deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
