Job Description
Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society is seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Officer to join our team at the Mapusa location. The Legal Officer will be responsible for handling legal matters, ensuring compliance, and providing legal advice and support to the organization. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in handling legal cases and possess expertise in vetting and drafting legal documents, including sales deeds and title documents. Experience in liaising with government bodies and coordinating with litigation panel advocates will be advantageous.
- Handle legal matters and provide legal advice and support to the organization.
- Review and vet legal documents, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft legal documents, including sales deeds, title documents, agreements, and legal notices.
- Liaise with government bodies, such as the RERA office, for necessary approvals, registrations, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with litigation panel advocates and provide necessary documentation and support for legal cases.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Identify legal risks and suggest measures to mitigate such risks.
- Assist in drafting policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across the organization.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes that may impact the organization s operations and advise management accordingly.
- Maintain legal records, documentation, and databases in an organized and secure manner.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including various departments, to address legal issues and provide guidance.
- Stay up-to-date with legal developments and attend relevant seminars or training programs as required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in handling legal matters in any industry.
- Bachelor s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Experience in handling cases at the RERA office will be preferred.
- Proficiency in vetting and drafting legal documents, including sales deeds and title documents.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of legal issues related to cooperative societies or financial institutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise with government bodies and coordinate with litigation panel advocates.
- Male candidates within the age range of 30-45 will be considered for this position.
