Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering teams in the development of cutting-edge e-commerce applications and systems. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background, proven leadership abilities, and a strong track record of driving engineering excellence. This leadership role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, and Business Functions, to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions that meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities :

- Ensure high standards of software quality by enforcing industry best practices, architectural principles, and engineering practices across the engineering team.

- Conduct detailed code reviews, design reviews, and provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering teams.

- Lead the design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems. Ensure that systems are architected to handle e-commerce traffic loads and scale efficiently.

- Work closely with senior leadership to define the engineering vision and long-term strategy. Set technical goals, allocate resources, and prioritize projects that align with the companys objectives and future growth.

- Champion innovation in the engineering teams by introducing new technologies, tools, and practices that improve the development process and the performance of e-commerce systems.

- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet agreed quality standards.

- Lead the engineering teams through Agile methodologies, ensuring sprint planning, tracking, and delivery is streamlined and optimized.

- Identify potential risks and issues that may impede project timelines and devise mitigation plans to address these challenges proactively.

- Work closely with Product Management, Design, and Operations teams to ensure that engineering efforts are aligned with business requirements and product roadmaps.

- Drive alignment across teams to ensure the seamless integration of engineering solutions with business and product functions.

- Regularly communicate progress, issues, and results to executive stakeholders, ensuring that they are informed about project developments and challenges.

- Drive the adoption of software development best practices and tools, improving overall quality and performance.

- Promote the use of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices to enhance engineering efficiency and reliability.

- Monitor and control engineering costs and resource allocation, ensuring that investments contribute

effectively to meeting engineering and business goals.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

- Actively manage the career growth and development of engineering talent, encouraging knowledge sharing and upskilling.

Experience :

- 14+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 6+ years in a management role leading software engineering teams, particularly in large-scale or hyperscale e-commerce systems and platforms.

- Proficiency in modern programming languages e.g., Java, C#, Node.js, Python and experience with software development frameworks e.g., Spring Boot, React, Angular.

- In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, GCP, Azure), including cloud-based architectures, microservices, and containerization.

- Expertise in designing, building, and scaling microservices architectures, distributed systems, and performance-engineered solutions.

- Solid understanding and experience implementing DevOps practices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment pipelines.

- Experience designing and optimizing systems for high performance, reliability, and scalability.
