Role & responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Scheduling: Prepare and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment between
2. civil and MEP activities. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to prioritize tasks.
3. Inter-departmental Coordination: Act as a liaison between civil, MEP, and other departments to
ensure smooth communication and integration. Resolve conflicts between civil and MEP works
to avoid delays or rework.
4. Resource Allocation: Ensure the availability of materials, labour, and equipment for both civil and MEP tasks. Monitor and manage resource usage to stay within budget.
Specific Responsibilities for Civil Department:
1. Site Coordination: Oversee civil works such as structural, finishing, and landscaping activities.
Ensure adherence to design drawings and specifications.
2. Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections to ensure construction meets quality standards and codes. Coordinate with quality engineers for timely testing of materials.
3. Progress Monitoring: Track civil work progress and report to the project manager or client.
Specific Responsibilities for MEP Department:
1. MEP Integration: Ensure mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations align with civil structures and timelines. Review MEP shop drawings and provide approval in coordination with design consultants.
2. Vendor Management: Coordinate with MEP vendors and subcontractors for timely delivery and installation. Ensure proper commissioning and testing of MEP systems.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure MEP installations comply with local codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
Joint Responsibilities:
1. Safety Management: Monitor adherence to safety protocols for civil and MEP activities.
Address safety concerns related to overlapping works.
2. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of civil and MEP progress, material usage, and approvals. Prepare progress reports, RFI (Request for Information), and change order documentation.
3. Problem-Solving: Address on-site issues like design conflicts, material shortages, or unforeseen challenges. Suggest cost-effective and practical solutions.
