Key Responsibilities: General Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including day-to-day transactions. Prepare and maintain ledgers, journals, and trial balances. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate cash flow management. Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. TDS (Tax Deducted at Source): Compute and deduct TDS on payments as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act. Ensure timely remittance of TDS to the government and filing of TDS returns (quarterly and annual).
Prepare and issue TDS certificates (Form 16, Form 16A) to employees and vendors. Respond to TDS-related notices and audits, ensuring proper compliance with the tax authorities. Provident Fund (PF) Compliance: Calculate and ensure timely contribution and remittance of Provident Fund (PF) for employees.
Maintain accurate records of employee PF details and contributions. Ensure compliance with all applicable PF laws and regulations, including filing of returns and ensuring timely payments. Provide monthly reports on PF liabilities and submit filings to the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organization).
Employees' State Insurance (ESIC) Compliance: Calculate and ensure timely contributions to ESIC for all eligible employees. Ensure compliance with ESIC regulations, including registration, filing of returns, and making contributions.
Manage ESIC documentation, including issuing employee insurance cards and related communication. Coordinate with the ESIC authorities to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Statutory Filings & Compliance: Ensure all statutory filings, such as GST returns, TDS returns, PF returns, and ESIC filings, are done accurately and on time. Monitor and adhere to deadlines for all statutory payments to avoid penalties.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws, labor laws, and other regulations impacting the organization compliance.
Payroll Support: Assist in preparing payroll and ensure proper calculation of deductions for TDS, PF, and ESIC. Support the HR department in managing employee-related queries related to TDS, PF, and ESIC. Audit & Reporting: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary records and documents are available and accurate. Provide regular reports on TDS, PF, ESIC, and general accounting activities to management.
