Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems. Strong understanding of security concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to L1 support staff to enhance their skills. Create and maintain documentation, such as standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
Network Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment. Perform updates to network devices, including firmware upgrades and configuration changes.
Monitoring and Optimization: Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address performance issues. Optimize network performance through tuning and traffic management strategies. Analyze usage patterns and make recommendations for capacity planning and upgrades.
