Technical Author

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Author with 24 years of experience in aerospace technical documentation, particularly in military aircraft systems. The ideal candidate should have expertise in creating and managing technical manuals and be proficient in MS Office and documentation standards such as IPC, SRM, Avionics, WDM, CMM, AMM, and Flight Manuals. The role also requires converting technical content into voice-over scripts for Computer-Based Training (CBT) documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, update, and manage technical manuals (IPC, AMM, CMM, SRM, WDM, Avionics, and Flight Manuals) for military aircraft.
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineers, and avionics specialists to gather technical data.
Convert complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and structured documentation.
Prepare voice-over scripts for CBT-based training modules.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and military
documentation protocols.
Collaborate with graphic designers and illustrators to enhance documentation clarity.
Conduct peer reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Support the team in preparing technical presentations and reports.
Maintain documentation in MS Office, XML, and SGML-based authoring tools.

Required Skills:
Strong understanding of military aircraft systems, avionics, and maintenance procedures.
Experience in creating and updating aviation technical manuals.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to convert technical content into structured voice-over scripts.
Excellent technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong communication skills to work with SMEs and engineering teams.
Familiarity with aerospace documentation standards (S1000D, ATA iSpec 2200,
ASD-STE100) is a plus.
