The project aims to identify spatial patterns of environmental and biological factors such as leaf, soil and pollinator larval chemistry, and biological interactions such as plant-insect and plant-soil microbial interactions, as putative indicators of the impact of roads on agropastoral land use practices.
The Research Assistant will be involved in implementing the project, including but not limited to developing protocols for data collection, planning, and collecting data through fieldwork and laboratory work, and working with research partners and interns. They will also be involved with facilitating chemical and genomic analyses of samples, analysing the data, and writing. The fieldwork for sample and data collection will be primarily around Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The Research Assistant will work with Yadugiri Tiruvaimozhi and Shivani Jadeja, Assistant Professors of Biology, School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences, Krea University.
Job location Primarily, Krea University, Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, with the possibility of travel to other locations based on the projects needs.
Duration 4 months. Required Qualifications. Postgraduate degree (MSc, PG Diploma, or similar) in Biology, Ecology, or allied fields. Research experience in ecology, including some experience in conducting field work (research experience as part of a thesis or dissertation counts).
Ability and willingness to conduct fieldwork and sample collection around Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, and travel to facilitate chemical and genomic analyses.
Spreadsheet skills (MS Excel/Google Sheets). Desired skills Experience with one or more of the following is desirable fieldwork, GIS software, R statistical software, geospatial tools, and statistical analyses. These are not required qualifications to
