Automation Engineer - HMI/Scada Systems (5-6 yrs)

About the Job :

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Engineer with experience in Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley, and HMI/SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, troubleshooting, and designing automation systems for industrial applications.

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, programming, and maintaining automated control systems, ensuring high efficiency, reliability, and performance in operational environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and implement automated control systems using Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley PLCs, and HMI/SCADA systems.

- Write, test, and maintain PLC and HMI programs for different control systems, ensuring all programs are optimized for performance, reliability, and safety.

- Develop and configure HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens to visualize data, enhance operator interface, and control automated systems.

- Create and maintain software for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to monitor and control industrial processes.

- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and other automation components.

- Conduct regular system checks and preventive maintenance on existing automation systems to ensure they are running efficiently and reliably.

- Identify, document, and resolve issues in automated systems, working closely with the engineering and operations teams to minimize downtime.

- Integrate PLCs, SCADA, and HMI with other control and monitoring systems to ensure seamless communication and data flow.

- Perform system upgrades and integration of new automation systems as per project requirements.

- Ensure all automation systems are compliant with industry standards and client specifications.

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technical teams to deliver automation projects on time and within budget.

- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical advice, and support during system design, testing, and implementation phases.

- Provide training and support to operators and maintenance staff on the use of automation systems.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all programming, system configurations, and system updates.

- Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and the latest trends in automation and control systems.

- Proficient in Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley PLCs programming and troubleshooting.

- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with HMI and SCADA systems.

- Experience in industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, and OPC.

- Good understanding of control theory, process control systems, and automation technologies.

- Strong programming skills in Ladder Logic, Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD) for PLC programming.

- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data acquisition and system integration.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and SCADA/HMI systems.

- Experience working with industrial control systems in manufacturing, energy, or other industrial sectors.

- Knowledge of safety protocols and standards (such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849) in automation systems
