Job Summary:
The Sales Merchandiser is responsible for enhancing the visibility and availability of products in retail stores. This involves ensuring that products are stocked, displayed correctly, and marketed to encourage sales. The role combines sales skills with merchandising techniques to drive product demand and improve in-store presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Placement & Display: Set up product displays according to company guidelines and in-store planograms. Ensure product displays are neat, attractive, and fully stocked. Replenish inventory on shelves and ensure product availability to meet customer demand. Sales Support: Promote product features and benefits to retail staff to encourage better product knowledge and sales. Provide feedback to the sales team about product performance, customer preferences, and competitor activity. Work with store management to ensure promotions and discounts are clearly visible and adhered to. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with retail store personnel. Assist store staff in handling product inquiries, setting up promotions, and executing sales strategies. Address any customer concerns or product-related issues in collaboration with customer service. Market Research & Reporting: Monitor competitor activities and trends to understand market dynamics. Track inventory levels and communicate any stock issues or opportunities to management. Submit daily/weekly reports on store conditions, product placement, and sales performance. Brand Representation: Act as the brand ambassador by ensuring products are presented in a professional and consistent manner. Ensure compliance with brand guidelines for in-store displays, promotions, and product placements. Stock Management: Ensure stock rotation and manage product expiration dates (if applicable). Conduct stock counts and manage orders to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (preferred). Experience: Previous experience in retail sales, merchandising, or a similar role is an advantage. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Knowledge of retail merchandising principles. Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, inventory management tools). Problem-solving and decision-making ability. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move products (up to 25-30 lbs). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
