A product development manager (PDM) oversees the process of creating or improving products from start to finish, working with a software development team to ensure that the products meet customer needs and business goals. They lead a products market research, assessing and coordinating front. Flexible enough to travel to Onsite International countries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in product development management.
- Experience in Point of Sale (POS) systems and retail product development management are essential.
Responsibilities: Mandate to work from Office
- Create fresh products to meet customer and company needs.
- Conduct market research to identify customer preferences and needs, including POS systems across retail environments.
- Develop product strategies that align with company goals and customer needs, especially within the retail domain.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and POS system teams to create product concepts and prototypes.
- Present new ideas/opportunities to executives.
- Ensure every step of the product development process proceeds as planned, including integration with POS systems.
- Adjust product plans when needed, managing both technical and design aspects of retail and POS products.
Skills:
Expert in Everything Technical: As a PDM, you will work closely with engineering, design, and POS system teams. Communication in their technical language is necessary to drive success.
The Amalgamation of Creativity and Innovation: Problem-solving with a focus on innovation, particularly in POS integration and retail technologies.
Collaborative Skills: Your role involves working with cross-functional teams, including retail operations, POS teams, and external vendors.
- Customer First Attitude: As a person responsible for retail products, focus on creating products that deliver excellent customer experiences, both in-store and online.
Tools & Techniques:
- Familiarity with Retail POS systems across online, mobile, and in-store channels.
- Knowledge of store operations and retail environments, including POS setup and functionality.
- Tools such as Product Roadmaps, Agile Development, Design Thinking, SWOT Analysis, Product Analytics, and Competitive Analysis.
Technology - 1. ReactJS and TypeScript (mandatory)
2. NodeJS (mandatory)
3. POSTGRESQL or MySQL (mandatory)
4. NextJS (mandatory)
5. Retail system or eCommerce system (optional)
6. Microservices (optional)
7. gRPC and Kafka (optional)
8. JIRA tools (optional)
9. Angular (Optional)
Additional Competencies:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
- Results-oriented, with a proven record of managing complex initiatives related to retail and POS products.
- A passion for driving innovation in POS and retail technologies.
Certifications in Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe POPM) will be an added advantage.
