Bi Reporting Analyst

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BI Reporting Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SAP Business Objects (BO) reports, universes, and dashboards, as well as developing solutions using Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both SAP BO and Power BI tools, data warehousing, and business intelligence best practices to deliver robust and scalable BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report and Dashboard Development: Design and develop high-quality reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using SAP Business Objects and Power BI, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Universe Design & Development: Design and maintain SAP Business Objects Universes, ensuring efficient data access and performance optimization.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data from multiple sources into SAP Business Objects and Power BI platforms, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize existing reports and universes for performance improvements, including query optimization and index tuning.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and other team members. Assist in setting best practices and coding standards for SAP Business Objects and Power BI development.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts, end-users, and other stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for all developed solutions, including design specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
• System Maintenance: Perform regular system checks, updates, and maintenance for SAP Business Objects environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for SAP Business Objects and Power BI users, investigating issues and delivering timely resolutions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in Business Objects and Power BI development.
• Strong experience with SAP Business Objects 4.x and/or Business Objects Cloud, including Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Dashboards.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and optimizing SAP Business Objects Universes.
• Strong experience in Power BI development, including report creation, dashboard design, and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning of Business Objects reports and Universes, as well as Power BI reports.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.

Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP Business Objects reporting tools (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Dashboards).
• Strong proficiency in Power BI development, including report creation and dashboard design.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business users and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with attention to detail and quality.

Certifications (Optional):

• SAP BusinessObjects certifications or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Power BI certifications are a plus.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with other BI platforms like Tableau or QlikView.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and OLAP cubes.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and development processes.
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices in BI.
