Job Description

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software solutions for portfolio accounting and management using Java.

Collaborate with business analysts, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to understand and implement portfolio accounting requirements.

Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of portfolio data processing and reporting.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets both technical and business requirements.

Conduct unit tests and participate in peer code reviews to ensure the quality of the software.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to financial data and portfolio calculations.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technologies in both Java development and financial accounting.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

5-8+ years of experience in Java development, with a focus on financial software or portfolio management systems.

Solid understanding of portfolio accounting concepts, including positions, transactions, cost basis, reconciliation and performance.

Experience working with financial databases and large datasets (e.g., SQL, Oracle).

Familiarity with APIs, RESTful services, and data integration from third-party vendors.

Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Experience with version control systems like Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, bonds, derivatives, hedge funds, private equity) and investment lifecycle processes.

Familiarity with portfolio accounting, performance attribution and risk analytics.

Knowledge of cloud services like AWS or Azure.

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when dealing with complex financial data.
