Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) Technical Consultant plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the D365 F&O platform to meet organizational business requirements.
Below is a comprehensive overview of the typical responsibilities, required skills, and qualifications for this position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Solution Design and Development : Collaborate with functional consultants and stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Develop customizations and extensions using X++ and .NET to enhance D365 F&O functionalities.
- System Integration : Design and implement integration solutions between D365 F&O and external systems using technologies such as OData, Data Management Framework (DMF), and custom web services.
- Data Management : Utilize the Data Management Framework for efficient data import/export processes, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity within the system.
- Reporting and Analytics : Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards using tools like SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI to support business decision-making.
- System Configuration and Customization : Configure and customize D365 F&O modules, forms, workflows, and user interfaces to align with specific business processes and requirements.
- Testing and Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough testing of customizations and integrations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and adherence to business requirements.
- Technical Support and Maintenance : Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshoot issues, and perform system optimizations to maintain the health and performance of the D365 F&O environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Technical Proficiency : Strong experience in X++ programming, .NET development, and a deep understanding of the D365 F&O architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SSRS and Power BI for reporting.
- Integration Expertise : Experience in integrating D365 F&O with other systems using EDI, OData, DMF, and custom web services. Familiarity with Azure Logic Apps and Power Platform is advantageous.
- Analytical Skills : Strong problem-solving abilities to analyze complex business requirements and develop effective technical solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration : Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications, such as the Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate, are highly desirable
