Role & responsibilities

• Lead and conduct advanced coastal modelling studies using software and various tools to study and analyse wave conditions, sediment transport, and shoreline evolution.
• Apply numerical modelling techniques to simulate coastal processes and assess the impact on proposed and planned port facilities.
• Capable of independently carrying out coastal modelling : Hydrodynamic modelling study, Wave tranquillity study, cyclonic and Tsunami study, Derivation of Design wave conditions for design of coast protection structures, Littoral drift modelling and its assessment, estimation of capital and maintenance dredging, offshore to nearshore wave transformation study.
• Capable of designing hydraulic design of Breakwaters, armor sizing ensuring robust solutions for wave attenuation, harbor protection, and overall port resilience.
• Utilize expertise in coastal dynamics to optimize breakwater designs for various environmental conditions.
• Develop innovative and effective coastal engineering solutions for port projects, considering factors such as sea-level rise, climate change, and environmental sustainability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate coastal considerations into overall project planning and execution.
• Bring extensive experience in various port projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of coastal and marine engineering challenges.
• Apply knowledge and lessons learned from past projects to enhance the success of future port developments.
• Utilize a variety of numerical modeling tools for coastal engineering, including but not limited to SWAN, MIKE21/3, CMS-Wave, and other relevant software..
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during coastal engineering consultations, ensuring effective communication, addressing concerns, and providing regular project updates.
• Lead and manage coastal engineering aspects of port projects, collaborating with structural engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers.
• Ensure that coastal considerations are seamlessly integrated into overall project designs and plans.
• Conduct site visits to assess coastal conditions, address construction challenges, and ensure the quality assurance of coastal engineering solutions.

Prepare and present detailed technical reports and findings to clients and project stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

• Ph.D. or Master's in Coastal Engineering, Physical Oceanography,
• 5-10 years of professional experience in coastal engineering, with a focus on coastal modelling + breakwater/coastal protection design.
• Strong proficiency in coastal modelling software and numerical simulation tools.
• Experience in leading and managing coastal engineering projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes for coastal engineering like CEM, Eurotop manual, CIRIA C 683 , EAU 2020 : recommendations of the committee for Waterfront Structures Harbours and Waterways.
• Proven track record of successful completion of coastal engineering projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
