Middleware Administrator - Load Balancing Tools (5-6 yrs)

Job Description :

- We are looking for a skilled and experienced Middleware Administrator to join our team.

- The ideal candidate will have expertise in DevOps, Open Source Middleware technologies, and automation development.

- As a Middleware Administrator, you will be responsible for managing middleware components, ensuring smooth deployment and operation of enterprise applications, and resolving any issues related to the middleware environment in production or test systems.

- You will also lead efforts to pioneer new technologies, working collaboratively with the Product Development, Enterprise, and Operational teams within a Development IT organization.

- Your experience with performance issues and middleware technologies will help ensure the optimal operation of the systems, from deployment to troubleshooting and scaling.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain middleware platforms (e.g, WebLogic, WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, NGINX) to ensure high availability and performance for enterprise applications.

- Manage the deployment of middleware solutions in production and test environments, ensuring adherence to best practices.

- Design and implement strategies for middleware scaling, load balancing, and high availability in large distributed systems.

- Provide technical solutions to address performance issues escalated from production or test environments.

- Perform performance tuning of middleware systems and work on capacity planning, ensuring systems meet business requirements in terms of speed, stability, and performance.

- Troubleshoot issues related to application servers, middleware technologies, and networking, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.

- Develop and implement automated deployment pipelines using DevOps tools and processes to ensure smooth and efficient deployments.

- Use shell scripting, Perl, PowerShell, and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks, monitoring, and management of middleware systems.

- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to streamline middleware management and operations.

- Collaborate with Product Development teams to integrate middleware solutions into new product features and ensure smooth operation within the enterprise infrastructure.

- Lead efforts to introduce and implement new middleware technologies to improve the efficiency and scalability of systems.

- Provide guidance to the team on best practices and standards for deployment, operation, and maintenance of middleware systems.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to middleware system configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

- Contribute to knowledge sharing and provide training and mentorship to junior team members.

- Act as an escalation point for middleware-related issues and provide technical support to other IT teams as required.

- Manage and resolve incident tickets related to middleware performance, availability, and errors.

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.

- WebLogic, WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, NGINX, IBM Http Server, LDAP, and MQ technologies.

- Strong experience with DevOps tools and automation development for system deployment and monitoring.

- Shell scripting expertise for automation of middleware tasks and problem-solving.

- Proficient in networking concepts and configurations (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, etc.

- Knowledge of SOAP and RESTful Web Services and how to integrate them with middleware systems.

- Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems management.

- Hands-on experience with Perl scripting and PowerShell for task automation and middleware management.

- Experience with performance tuning of middleware technologies and resolving related issues.

- Familiarity with containers and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
